Founder and Guide
Shalom, my name is Shachar and I am the founder and lead guide for Hands on Israel. I have been an Israeli tour guide for ten years. I love working with groups of all ages, but I have to say that working with families is my favorite. I love the challenge of creating a tour that is engaging for each person traveling with me. I try to never do the same thing the same way on a tour. I came up with the tagline “like a fingerprint, no two trips are alike” and I believe it wholeheartedly.
I am a licensed tour guide by Israel’s Ministry of Tourism as well as a certified education guide through the Ministry of Education. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Haifa in Israel. I also served as an Israeli emissary for Shorashim, a Chicago-based Israel education organization. But enough of the credentials, my heart is my family. I am the proud father of two beautiful, sassy, witty daughters and a loving husband to the smartest, most beautiful woman I know.
US Program Director and Customer Liaison
Shalom, my name is Stephanie and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. Shachar was my tour guide in March 2015 for my first trip to Israel. I can’t imagine having had a different guide for that first experience. I believed in his mission statement so much that when I was able to come back to Israel in June of the same year, I told him “I’m here to help.” Since then I’ve been working on marketing and communication efforts, as well as customer relations.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management, a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, and I am also a Certified Public Communicator. I love hearing other people's stories; learning from them and living through them. I am excited to hear the unique fingerprint of your story and experiences in Israel and share them with others who hope to create their own as well.
